DescriptionJoin the City of Roseville team as a Sports Official/Scorer I/II in the Youth Flag Football Division! The Human Resources Department is accepting applications for the temporary and part-time position of Sports Official/Scorer I/II in the Parks, Recreation & Libraries Department for the Youth Flag Football program. This is a seasonal position and is limited to 25 hours per week for a maximum of 1,000 hours per fiscal year. The Youth Flag Football season will take place from March through May. The normal work schedule days and times that a person may be scheduled include Saturdays between the hours of 12pm - 8pm. This position is located at Mahany Regional Park, along with various other City parks . This position would require staff to officiate and/or monitor Youth Flag Football leagues and programs in the afternoons/evenings. Experience and Training
Experience: Experience playing, scoring and/or officiating team sports.
AND
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the tenth (10th) grade and sixteen (16) years of age.
Sports Official-Scorer II
Experience: One season of experience in subject area.
AND
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the tenth (10th) grade and sixteen (16) years of age.
License or Certificate
Possession of CPR and First Aid certificates within six (6) months of hire.
Necessary Special Requirement.
If assigned to Adult Sports, must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.

SELECTION PROCESS :
All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will have their application scored in a Formula Rate Examination. The applicant’s experience and education will be evaluated using a pre-determined formula. Scores from this evaluation will determine applicant ranking and placement on the Employment List. Supplemental questions will be utilized by the department hiring authority to make interview and selection determinations. Final appointment is contingent upon a check of past employment references, passing a City-paid fingerprint check, and depending on the position applied for, a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol screening test, credit check, license and/or education verification, psychological examination, and/or an extensive Police Department background check process.
Some positions require the clearance of a comprehensive Police Department (PD) background check within 12 months of appointment. The City may appoint candidates to positions prior to clearing the extensive Police Department background check, and in those circumstances the candidate will be advised in advance that security access in the information technology systems will be limited to non-PD related systems until PD clearance is received, and if the candidate ultimately does not clear the PD background it will result in release from City service without appeal rights, in accordance with Personnel Rules 3.04.050.
