Job/Department Summary: Under the general direction of the University Budget Director, the incumbent assists with the preparation and administration of the university budget, provides leadership for the campus on budget and financial matters, and performs continuous budgetary monitoring. The incumbent investigates more complex problems and consults with and advises the University Budget Director on budget requests. The incumbent assists with administering the annual university budget, managing campus revenue, expenditures and reserves according to the approved budget plan and in accordance with the Chancellor's Office, Governor and State legislative directives.
Required Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration or similar area of study.
ANDA minimum of five years of significant relevant experience in financial management.
Experience with preparation, analysis and administration of a public or institutional budget.
Preferences: Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Bilingual.
- Experience with position management (position-based budgeting).
- Advanced use and experience with MS Excel creating complex spreadsheets for large data sets.
- Advanced use and experience with MS PowerPoint creating visually appealing and informative presentations of budget information to administration.
- Experience in analyzing and forecasting large scale budgets.
- Experience with preparation, analysis and administration of a public or institutional budget.

Pay Plan: 12/12
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm
CSU Classification Salary Range: $47,256 - $140,436 per year. (Admin I)
Anticipated Hiring Range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year. Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected.

This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
The duties of this position will include participation in a decision that may have a material/financial benefit to the incumbent.
