The Position
Master Information Technology (IT) Professionals provide the highest level of professional IT expertise in an agency in one or more functional areas such as information systems project management, quality assurance, database administration, network administration, systems administration, applications analysis and development, or information security.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Portfolio and Product Manager will play a key role in the development and execution of the product portfolio strategy, aligning with the department's objectives and driving product innovation. This role is responsible for optimizing product performance, identifying opportunities for new products, and ensuring the successful execution of product initiatives. The Portfolio and Product Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business stakeholders, and vendors, to launch and monitor products through their entire lifecycle. This role involves implementing Portfolio Governance practices, including developing product charters, setting operational guidelines, and establishing KPIs to measure success. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and six years of progressively responsible professional IT experience, three years of which were at the advanced journey level in a pertinent specialty area such as information systems project management, quality assurance, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, or information security; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Notes Some positions require an applicant to undergo a background investigation prior to appointment. These positions will be identified at the time of recruitment. Special Requirements Statewide travel is required. Professional certification from a nationally recognized/accredited organization, to be identified at the time of recruitment, is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting will be required of the selected applicant. The Department of Transportation will pay for these items. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
