    Requirements

    MOS Code: 3E591 (Air Force)

    Education and Experience : Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field or higher, and four (4) years of experience in construction project scheduling or a related field.

    Licenses and Certificates : Valid Texas Class "C" Driver’s License or equivalent from another state by the time of appointment. Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is preferred.

    General Purpose

    Under general supervision, manage and assist in creating and maintaining project schedules for city projects, ensuring coordination among various stakeholders and adherence to timelines.

    Typical Duties

    Responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules: Involves: Develop and build project schedules collaboratively with the project teams. Participate in construction planning and scheduling processes, including creating procurement baselines, schedules, and contracts. Assist project teams in schedule sequencing, methods of construction, project delays and impacts, alternate work plans, and recovery schedules. Identify schedule challenges, risks, and conflicts to stakeholders and provide corrective suggestions and creative solutions. Consulting with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks. Participate and provide feedback in project pre-planning, post-construction, and monthly project status review meetings.

    Project schedule monitoring. Involves: Conduct regular project visits to review job status and apply construction sequencing knowledge to maintain project schedules accurately. Develop and facilitate scheduled training programs for internal team members. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project timelines are met and that schedule changes are communicated effectively. Manage the schedules of an entire portfolio of projects, ensuring that all projects are aligned and deadlines are coordinated. Review detailed project schedules using project management software, identifying potential scheduling conflicts, and developing solutions to mitigate delays.

    Maintain comprehensive records of project schedules and related documentation. Involves: Ensure that scheduling activities comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations. Prepare regular progress reports, update schedules as project scopes change, and provide detailed schedule analysis to city officials and stakeholders. Secures information by completing database backups. Provides historical reference by utilizing filing and retrieval systems. Ensuring that all tasks are completed on time .

    Supervise assigned staff. Involves: Schedule, assign, instruct, guide, and check work. Provide for training and development. Enforce personnel rules and regulations and work behavior standards firmly and impartially. Counsel, motivate, and maintain harmony. Interview applicants and recommend hiring, termination, transfers, discipline, or other employee status changes.
