    The Position

    Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic and orderly work environment.

    PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-007, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30TH, 2025.     Custodial Worker 1 at the Office of the Military are expected to perform general cleaning services in all State-owned facilities to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Examples of this are cleaning/sanitizing offices, restrooms, showers, bathtubs, laundry rooms, classrooms, water fountains and other areas as directed by Facility Supervisor. On Army National Guard facilities, the incumbent will aid in snow removal, and prevention. Operate power equipment i.e. bobcats, snow blowers, all-terrain vehicles at any given time. The incumbent will be using electric strippers, buffers, burnishers, power washers and vacuums. Safety procedures will be always observed and adhered to when using cleaning products and machinery. Equipment will require repair from time to time which the incumbent will need to assist maintenance crew in performing these tasks. All work order related jobs will be documented in a centralized work order system. Logs will be maintained of inventory and supplies used to when inventory becomes low.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of general work experience and six months of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of experience as a Custodial Worker Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.     Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
