The Job
San Bernardino County Fire Protection District is recruiting for an innovative and dynamic Information Technology Manager, to develop information technology strategies while managing the staff and operation of the Information Technology Division of the Fire District. The Information Technology Manager is responsible for managing multiple sections of the Information Technology Division for the Fire District. Oversight of the division includes support for multiple midrange servers, database administration, network administration, applications support, systems operations, communications, data/GIS, help desk and PC technical support in addition to managing the division budget and interfacing with internal management, state agencies, federal and regulatory agencies, other county departments and vendors. The Information Technology Manager will be tasked with defining clear goals and objectives, as well as identifying business needs and solutions.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, and/or medical exam, prior to appointment.
Travel : Travel throughout the County may be required. A valid California Class C Driver License and proof of automobile liability insurance must be provided at time of hire and maintained throughout employment.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
---AND---
Experience: Five (5) years of full-scope supervisory experience for a team of IT professionals with responsibility for overseeing technology-related services, operations, projects, and development and assessment of business application/systems.
Qualifying degrees must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive IT experience working in a pubic fire district, agency, authority or department. In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and leadership skills, and works collaboratively with other departments and agencies. Budget experience is highly desired.
