Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation with a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to Social Work.
OR
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus two (2) years of experience in a field related to counseling individuals and case management services.
Licenses or Certifications:Licensed under the Regulation of Social Work Practitioners Act of the State of Texas and will be required to maintain during employment.
Notes to Applicants
This Social Worker position is part of the Crisis Intervention Team within the Neighborhood Services Unit ( NSU ). This position provides crisis intervention and case management services to victims of disaster and public health emergencies and assists the NSU in providing social service support to the community. This position facilitates linkage to necessary resources to assist clients in meeting their case management goals, documents client progress and case activities in the client database and charts and enters data into monthly reporting tools. In addition, they will assist the Neighborhood Centers in working with clients to achieve self-sufficiency, meeting grant requirements, and working mass distributions and other events.
Due to the nature of emergency and disaster response, this position may require work hours outside of the standard schedule.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Provides short-term crisis counseling and support. Documents services provided through the appropriate reporting methods. Keeps informed in best practices and community resources. Maintains clients’ records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
