Graduate Engineer A:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience - Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job.
Licenses and Certifications Required:Graduate Engineer B:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience - Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in engineering.
Licenses and Certifications Required: - Engineer-In-Training ( EIT ) Certification in the State of Texas,
OR - If certified in another state, must have the ability to obtain Texas EIT certification within six (6) months of employment.
Engineer A: Education and/or Equivalent Experience: - Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years engineering experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
Licenses and Certifications Required:- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.

Position Overview: Austin Water currently has an opening for an engineer to sponsor and execute water and wastewater pipeline projects. This role coordinates with multiple teams and departments to plan, design, bid, and construct these projects successfully. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex pipeline projects in the City of Austin.

Preferred Experience: - Experience in project management and sponsorship, overseeing projects related to design and construction of water and wastewater lines.
- Experience in capital improvement project planning and management including project planning and management including project tracking, preparation of cost analysis, budgets, and schedules, negotiating proposals for implementation, and monitoring performance against goals.
- Experience regularly interacting with different levels of personnel throughout an organization and adapting communication styles to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and working with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities and collaborating effectively with other departments or units within an organization to meet business objectives.
- Experience with communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to traverse rugged terrain to reach pipeline components in remote areas with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to travel to more than one work location.
