Introduction Westworld of Scottsdale is a premier, internationally recognized, multi-use events facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. WestWorld annually hosts the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction, as well as conventions, trade shows, concerts, equestrian shows and many other events. Join our experienced event staff and top-notch operations crew who provide exceptional support to more than 100 events each year! WestWorld of Scottsdale Intern will help provide professional level staff and/or public assistance in the areas of research & analysis, procedural studies, program coordination, and technical planning for a variety of administrative and operational processes. The WestWorld Intern will also help with specialized projects in support of the ever-growing objectives of the WestWorld team.
Please note the following:- The hiring rate is expected to be $20.09 per hour.
- Part-time positions have limited benefits, as required by law.
- Part-time positions are unclassified, at-will and serve at the discretion of the City.
- This position will be part time, up to 24-30 hours per week, or a maximum of 1,140 hours, through the end of June 2025.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience - No experience required for this position.
- Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated within a year from an accredited college or university degree program in Agriculture, Livestock Operations, Hospitality Operations, Business Administration or a related field.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements - Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on division/section assignment.
Essential Functions Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
- Provides assistance to WestWorld staff as assigned.
- Communicates with the general public, other City employees, management, event staff, and public officials in order to research administrative or operational problem areas, conduct surveys, and report recommendations and results.
- Analyzes procedures, drafts studies, reports, and/or manuals to report findings and propose solutions to administrative problems or makes recommendations for improvement.
- Designs and revises a variety of statistical and/or narrative forms for records and reports; completes them on an as-needed, monthly, quarterly, and/or yearly basis.
- Attends related training sessions, various meetings, citizens committees, and citizen boards and commissions, as directed.
- Collects, assembles, and analyzes data to assist in resolving procedural, operational, and other work-related problems.
- Operates utility vehicle on the facility property.
Work Environment/Physical Demands - Work is performed in an office environment as well as on the grounds of WestWorld.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Travel to/from meetings and various locations.
- Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machines requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand, and eye movement.
