    Job Description

    The State Bar of California seeks a visionary consultant for a transformative engagement to reimagine the California Bar Examination. This leadership role represents a unique opportunity to shape the future of legal licensure in California while advancing public protection through innovative, evidence-based assessment methodologies.

    The ideal candidate will possess:
    • Proven expertise in innovative assessment design and testing technology implementation
    • Extensive experience developing and modernizing high-stakes professional licensing examinations
    • Demonstrated success in large-scale examination transformation projects
    • General understanding of psychometric principles and test validity requirements
    • Strong background in public protection mandates and evolving legal competencies
    • Superior stakeholder management and consensus-building capabilities
    • Sophisticated political acumen and change management experience
    • Track record of balancing innovation with maintaining rigorous testing standards
    • Experience engaging effectively with diverse constituencies and perspectives
