Position Description: - Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships and promotes good public relationships as a representative of Licking County Government.
- Performs stripping and waxing of hard surface flooring.
- Performs the following to County buildings: (Sweeps, mops floors and stairs; vacuums, cleans, and shampoos carpets; strips and waxes floors.) Cleans Bathrooms (toilets, sinks, floors, countertops, walls, mirrors) and light fixtures; Replaces and changes supplies in the bathroom; Washes glass doors and windows; washes out trash bins and changes liners; collects recycling. Wipes down walls, blinds, woodwork and all door fixtures; cleans and thoroughly polishes drinking fountains. Maintains meeting rooms. Completes special cleaning projects as assigned.
- Monitors inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment in storage areas in each building and reports to Building Services Supervisor.
- Picks up trash and debris, including all types / forms of litter from the front and rear entrances of County buildings.
- Reports building and equipment repairs to Crew Leader.
- Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
- Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training.
Brief Description: Performs janitorial tasks of County buildings.
Job Prerequisites: Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Ohio Driver’s License in compliance with employee policy.
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):Floor stripping and waxing equipment experience required. Ability to read and understand SDS (Safety Data Sheets). Ability to drive a ¾ ton 4X4 pickup truck with either standard or automatic transmission and operate associated equipment such as hoists, winches and jacks. Must be able to pull and back a twenty-foot trailer. Must be able to do in all types of weather conditions. Ability to work independently. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work a flexible schedule (possible Saturdays).
Compensation: Salary: $18.00 / hour
