POSITION OVERVIEWApplications will be accepted from: ALL PERSONS INTERESTEDDivision/ Section: Houston Airport System - Fleet ServicesWorkdays & Hours: Monday to Thursday 06:30 am - 05:00 pm PURPOSE OF DIVISION The purpose of the Houston Airports (HAS) Maintenance Division is to effectively deliver self-performed, and contracted, maintenance services at each of the three HAS airports.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Customer Service Representative I is responsible for supporting and monitoring vehicle and equipment preventative and corrective maintenance. This position will perform vehicle maintenance repairs to light and medium equipment not covered under the Service Level Agreement by COH - Fleet Management. Will transport vehicles and equipment to vendors and other locations. Will provide general support of personnel and coordination in enforcing the understanding and technical application of codes, ordinances and specifications for mechanical facilities, vehicles, structures, and systems. He or she will maintain vehicle and equipment warranties and specifications. Ensuring that HAS “Critical” equipment always has an in-service rate of 93%.
"Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required. Candidates must be able to obtain all security required badge access including Custom Border Patrol access within 6 months from the hire date.” The
Customer Service Representative I responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Through effective scheduling and evaluation of work assignments, ensure at least 95% on-time completion of HAS fleet maintenance work orders.
- Through efficient customer service operations, ensure at least 95% fleet maintenance information is documented in the HAS Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS), with accurate status and schedule completion date information.
- Perform at least 95% on-time quality audits of the HAS fleet critical vehicles and equipment.
- Manage the implementation, and continued monitoring, of fleet maintenance technical training of medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to understand and utilize computer systems.
- Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate facts to prepare and present concise oral and written reports.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, and to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, bending and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds. There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less-than-optimal temperature and air conditions. The position may involve dealing with modestly unpleasant situations, as with occasional exposure to office chemicals and/or extensive use of a monitor. Requires the ability to make coordinated gross motor movements in response to changing external stimuli within moderately demanding tolerances; or the ability to make coordinated eye/hand movements on a patterned response space within low tolerance demands with no real speed requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requires a high school diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Six months of administrative or customer service-related experience is required.
Substitution: An Associate’s degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and comply with the City of Houston’s policy on driving.
PREFERENCES PREFERENCES - Preferences will be given to applicants with 18 months of automotive experience.
