Assist the City Clerk’s Department in the upcoming recall election on March 4, 2025. Assistance may include checking in ballots, performing signature verification counting ballots, and any other required election responsibilities. Work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends and holidays.
Working on election day is required. The pay rate is $16.50 per hour. This opportunity will be available until Friday, January 24, 2025 at 4:00pm (Mountain Time). Essential Functions - Checking ballots requiring a high level of accuracy.
- Drive to collect ballots from remote ballot boxes around Loveland, unload ballot boxes, collect mailed ballots from the Post Office and returning the ballots to the processing center.
- Verify signatures on petitions and ballots.
- Prepare and scan verified ballots.
- Participate on teams that open ballots and prepare them for tabulation.
- Accurately handle and count ballots.
- Assemble and fill boxes for storage of ballots.
- Complete documentation regarding contents of each box.
- Log information and keep accurate records.
- Review ballots identified by tabulation software for voter intent and make decisions accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Education: High School or GED
Required Experience: United States Citizenship and Registered to vote in Colorado
Certifications: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - General office practices and procedures
- Working knowledge of computer and keyboards
- Routine software and business applications including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software and databases
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Read and comprehend department and City rules, regulations, policies and standard operating procedures
- Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with other City employees, election workers, representatives of other agencies and organizations and the public
- Work flexible days and hours Working on election day is required.
- Comprehend and accurately complete appropriate election paperwork, reports and logs legibly with accuracy and attention to detail
- Handle stressful situations with tact
Physical Demands Frequent: Minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or
standing as needed and minimal.
Occasional: Light to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive
tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.
Occasional: Moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight
objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs) and use of medium weight tools.
Working Environment Frequent: Exposure to routine office noise and equipment.
Occasional: Exposure to hazards typically found in general office environments where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.
Occasional: Exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.

- No convictions of election fraud, any other election offenses, or fraud, not a candidate or related to a candidate on the ballot or petition, anyone working as part of a candidate, political issue, or small-scale issue committee that is participating in this election.

- Occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
