    The Position

    Workforce Services Representatives provide a broad range of services in accordance with the Workforce Investment Act; assist job seeking customers and business customers seeking qualified applicants; and provide priority employment services to eligible veterans and disabled veterans as defined by the Department of Labor.

    This recruitment will be used to fill positions for the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) in the Maryland Parkway EmployNV Career Hub. The position is an underfill of a Workforce Services Representative 2 position and will progress to the next level upon meeting eligibility requirements and the approval of the appointing authority. The incumbent works with customers that are seeking assistance with training services needed to return to gainful employment and those who need employment assistance in purchasing items they may need to accept and offer of employment. The incumbent also works with employment services customers for assistance with job searches, resume creation assistance, building interview skills, job search planning, assisting clients with locating opportunities and in obtaining certifications and work-related items needed to secure employment. This position may be required to work weekends or hours outside of the traditional 8:00 am to 5:00 pm schedule. Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience which included providing services to customers; reading and applying written policies, procedures, or instructions; operating personal computers to enter and retrieve data; and interviewing individuals to gather information; OR a Bachelors degree in social or behavioral science, business administration, or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprint is required. Person's offered employment in this position will be required to pay for the fingerprinting. Additional Position Criteria Must have the ability to speak, read, and write Spanish and English. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
