    The Position

    Rehabilitation Technicians provide a broad variety of technical and clerical support to professional rehabilitation counseling staff and spend a preponderance of the time independently coordinating and ensuring the acquisition of required case documentation for disabled applicants during intake and eligibility processing. Incumbents also prepare, record and process authorizations and invoices for client services, and function as the office manager in a rural satellite office or metropolitan outreach office.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

Please refer to the link for more information: https://gov.nv.gov/Newsroom/ExecOrders/Executive-Orders/ Rehabilitation Technicians are the agency's paraprofessional staff who conduct group or individual orientations; conduct person-centered intake interviews with prospective Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) clients; complete application inputting and prescreening; and maintain regular contact with applicants throughout the VR case. Incumbents complete case management duties; coordinate evaluation appointments with state vendors; write case notes; perform labor market research on vocational goals; initiate and accept phone calls on behalf of Rehabilitation Counselors; and may perform receptionist duties. In addition, incumbents prepare, record, and process authorizations and invoices, referrals, logs, letters and other correspondence for client services; maintain client case files in electronic and hard copy format; compile routine reports for program/Counselor performance analysis; and act as an office manager (where applicable).     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of administrative or technical support experience which included performing word processing, spreadsheet and database functions; assisting in maintaining and monitoring budgets; conducting interviews to elicit required information; and interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures; one year which included experience in a rehabilitation setting; OR one year of experience as a Rehabilitation Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
