    The Position

    Casework Management Specialists within the Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Child & Family Services, provide case management services for children and their families and may be assigned to one of many specialized programs and/or facilities where duties may be performed in the home and/or any similar setting.

    Incumbents perform the full range of duties as described in the series concept.

    The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Casework Management Specialist 3 in Elko, Nevada. Incumbent provides child welfare services to children and families to develop and implement a case plan that presents intervention strategies to meet the child's needs; ensure children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met; provides strength-based family-centered case management services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children including home visits; monitoring services; report preparation and record keeping. Incumbents receive training in performing the duties outlined in the series concept.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology or closely related social/human services related field and two years of professional experience providing case management services specific to children in a health and/or human services setting; OR one year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level as described above. Special Notes Licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker or Clinical Social Worker may be substituted for one year of required work experience. Individuals who have current licensure may be required to maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Positions are subject to call-out or call-back. Positions require a valid driver's license, or equivalent mobility, at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
