Salary Range: $4,619-$6,928/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
The Cookingham-Noll Management Fellowship is a two-year experience that offers recent graduates of Public Administration (or related) Master's programs a paid two-year experience that gives fellows a "360-degree tour of the City." This includes rotations in the City Manager's Office, the Office of Management and Budget, and other departments of their choice. Fellows will also attend and participate in several meetings each week with the City Manager and other City leadership throughout their time as a fellow. - Applies research techniques to the study of systems, policies, and practices in multiple departments.
- Aids department and division personnel in handling a variety of projects.
- Projects may include but are not limited to: long-range administrative and operational duties, interdepartmental projects, employee orientation, supervising small work groups as directed, organizing events, conducting surveys, compiling data, accompanying staff on site/facility visits, attending public hearings and meetings, drafting public communications, facilitating resident engagement activities, calculating statistical data in preparation for fiscal and administrative analyses.
- Becomes familiar with the operational responsibilities of assigned departments.
- Assignments may vary from a series of short projects to long-range projects.
- Performs a variety of administrative research and investigative work as assigned by an administrative or technical superior in the field of municipal management.
- Conducts surveys and collects data to be used in administrative, fiscal, budgetary, or procedural analysis.
- Supervises limited sized work groups in a variety of activities.
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRES the enrollment or completion of an accredited Master's degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, accounting, finance, or any postgraduate degree.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
