Introduction This position is for the Vista Del Camino Community Action Program (CAP) case worker. Vista Del Camino is the designated Community Action Program for the City of Scottsdale. Case Workers assigned to Vista Del Camino's CAP provides direct social services to clients for financial assistance with various funding sources.
Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $76,169.60/annually. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or closely related field from an accredited educational institution.
- Two years' work experience in Social Work, clinical counseling or closely related field.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements- Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required within 60 days of hire date or promotion.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Essential Functions Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
- Maintains client confidentiality with regards to client interactions and client records.
- Provides assistance in identifying necessary resources and refers to local social service agencies as needed.
- Provides supportive guidance and collaboration to other city department staff members.
- Maintains up-to-date, detailed client records and statistics.
- Provides direct social service assistance to clients including food, clothing and holiday assistance.
- Provides various direct social services within a Community Action Program (CAP) for citizens in need of assistance including information and referral, financial education, financial coaching, and employment opportunity.
Work Environment/Physical Demands - Most work is performed in a normal City office environment.
- Lift and carry office materials, food boxes, donated items, tables and chairs up to 50 pounds.
- Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, copy and fax machine requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand, and eye movement.
- Travel to/from meetings and various City locations.
- Work evening and weekend hours as needed.
