    Requirements

    MOS Codes - 36A ( Army) 8640 ( Marine)

    Education and Experience : A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Public Administration or related field and four (4) years of experience in real estate, property management; or economic development experience that includes two (2) years of experience involving real estate practices in the state of Texas.

    Licenses and Certificates: Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent issued by another state.

    General Purpose

    Under general direction, the Real Estate Manager is responsible for strategic planning and management of transactions involving acquisition, disposition and leasing of City property. Primary components include management of third party consulting and brokerage services, legal department coordination, extensive interface with city departments and external parties, and administration of real estate activities.

    Typical Duties

    Management and coordination of contracted professional services supporting the acquisition, disposition, leasing, asset and property management of city real estate. Such services may also include reports, analysis, documents and related instruments of transactions, or potential transaction. Plan, organize and assist in the development of real estate related instruments and documents to be provided by the legal department or other professional services. Work closely, effectively and in a coordinated fashion.

    Respond and provide real estate related administrative services to senior management and city departments. Respond to inquiries from property owners, industry stakeholders and professionals, government officials and external parties regarding real estate related matters of the city.

    Manage the administrative and managerial aspects of the function, including contract compliance, analysis, reports, evaluations, presentation, and maintenance of records and files including data base management. Coordinate information and efforts, communicating effectively with all involved.
