Starting pay for this position is $18.00 to $19.00/hour depending on experience. Work schedule: Will train on day shift before moving to the evening shift.

Apply Now and Make a Difference!For more details, review the full job details and requirements below.The Custodian I provides skilled custodial services that support the operational nature of the assigned facilities. They are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing buildings and performing set-up and tear down activities to support various events in addition to light building maintenance such as changing light bulbs, hanging pictures or assisting others in performing such duties. The Custodian I is part of a two level career progression of Custodian I - II.
Key Responsibilities- Uses appropriate equipment, chemicals and PPE to complete custodial services; cleans and sanitizes buildings and fixtures; participates in special cleaning projects; replenishes consumables such as paper towels and toilet paper; repairs or replaces dispensers as needed; disposes of waste and trash; gathers and sorts recyclable materials per operating procedures.
- Assists in setting up and tearing down furnishings for special events.
- Performs light maintenance including replacement of light bulbs and hanging pictures.
- Opens and/or secures building per operating procedures; observes and reports any security issues including unauthorized persons, graffiti and vandalism; drives between various building locations in the completion of work assignments.
Qualifications Experience: Previous custodial experience preferred.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
Licenses & Certifications: A valid driver’s license and favorable driving record are required.
Language: Must be proficient in reading and speaking basic English language in order to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships with a diverse range of people and read chemical labels and other materials.
Environmental or Physical Demands: This work requires the ability to stand, walk, lift and carry, and use both hands and legs repetitively. The Custodian is required to operate custodial equipment, small tools, and vehicles, and work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors, and may be exposed to sanitary waste. The work involves manual dexterity, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, and kneeling, as well as the ability to perform minor mechanical tasks. Employees may drive or ride from site to site frequently throughout the day.
