Education and/or Equivalent Experience: - Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Real Estate, or in a field related to the job, plus six (6) years’ experience in real estate activities such as buying, selling, appraising, mortgage lending, property management, land management, or title conveyance, one (1) year of which were in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.
Licenses or Certifications: - State Certified General Appraiser, if overseeing Appraisal Division

Position Overview:This position will supervise the Electric Utility Support Section - Transmission, Substation, and Capital Improvement Projects ( CIP ) of the Financial Services Department’s Real Estate Division. The Real Estate Supervisor will work closely with transmission system planning, engineering, design, survey, planning officers, project teams, attorneys, and construction personnel. This position will prepare information for presentation to the leadership team, internal and external customers, boards and commissions, and the City Council. The position includes various supervisor responsibilities, including hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, and performance measurement. This position will be responsible for developing work processes, policies, and procedures. This position will focus on customer service, developing positive relationships, and educating stakeholders on real estate requirements for electric infrastructure, safety clearances, and access. This position will manage contract personnel to assemble project teams to complete CIPs. This position will be responsible for contractor billing verification, approval, and contract compliance. This position will oversee communications with all related parties and entities, landowners, and government agencies, and attend public meetings, regulatory hearings, presentations, and condemnation hearings.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Facilitates 150-200 Real Estate acquisitions per year valuing $1,000,000 to $2,000,000. Meets internal customer satisfaction targets including on time and within budget. Reviews and evaluates contracts, surveys, title commitments, title policies, and other related documents. Ensures compliance with all federal/city regulations. Conducts meetings with employees, other divisions/departments and property owners/agents. Performs on-site investigation of proposed locations. Monitors work production of subordinates and develop procedures for improvements. Consults with Law Department on legal issues, eminent domain, contracts, deeds, and releases. Prepares documents and reports, oversees the design of presentation materials, including power point presentations, charts and graphs. Provides Real Estate expertise to other departments. Answers citizen inquiries.
