    The Position

    Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

    Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.

    The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking a Clinical Social Worker 1 (Underfill Clinical Social Worker 2) within the Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health Services and Children's Clinical Services (NNCAS) community-based child and family mental health program at Northern Nevada Child and Adolescent Services in Reno. Child and family mental health programs NNCAS provide at provides dyadic parent/child therapy, individual therapy with youth, family and group therapy to include case management services to children ages birth to 18 and their families with mental health and/or behavioral health issues. Child and family mental health services are provided in office, via telehealth from the office, community, and homes. The selected candidate will perform mental health evaluations and assessments through interviews with youth, families and support systems and review of medical records including social, developmental, and medical history; determine strengths, presenting problems, resources, and eligibility for applicable programs and services; and identify appropriate interventions. The incumbent will follow established protocols and policy in order to ensure quality and timely services for youth and their families. Candidates must be able to obtain an Associate Clinical Social Worker license in the State of Nevada within 90 days of hire.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work and an internship approved by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Special Notes Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Must be in or eligible for an internship for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers, or must hold a license in the State of Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Special Requirements Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
