    About the Position:

    International Programs collaborates with departments and colleges within the University regarding unique programs for students from the community and around the world. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Study Abroad Lead (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

    Under general direction, as part of the Study Abroad and Global Engagement Team (SAGE), within the Department of International Education and Engagement (IEE), the Study Abroad Lead oversees customized program coordination as requested by academic partners/clients. The Study Abroad Lead will develop faculty-led and other customized programs from concept to post-program evaluation including policy research, analysis, development, evaluation, and operational and fiscal analysis related to each program. Partners with SAGE/IEE staff and departments to create and analyze program budgets and financials to assure fiscal viability and approval of program budgets. Independently reviews programs with faculty and/or departments to facilitate and streamline administrative tasks, assess completed programs, and improve offerings based on participant feedback and program evaluation.

    Serves as the primary academic college and department liaison, providing guidance and support for faculty and staff working in support of customized programs and participants, including: development, maintenance, and implementation of faculty and staff training to support health and safety and successful program delivery; oversight of the customized program approval and coordination life cycle in close collaboration with program leaders and campus partners; maintenance and updates to customized program approval and coordination life cycle processes that create efficiencies and remove obstacles to compliance and participation.

    Oversees crisis response and health and safety protocols for customized programs together with Risk Management Department and other campus partners, including serving as a primary university contact for faculty, staff, and students needing risk management support; supporting program leaders and students in resolving health and safety matters ranging from minor incidents to crisis-level situations; developing, maintaining, disseminating related resources, and trainings.

    Collaborates with SAGE/IEE staff to develop and implement strategic communication and promotion plans regarding programs, trainings, events/activities, and available resources, which may involve marketing campaigns that include a combination of social media, email, and other available outlets.

    Develops/maintains assessment plan: participates in defining program outcomes and goals; develops assessment tools which measure customized program impact for students and program leaders; performance outcome achievement for SAGE/IEE staff related to programming and activities; learning outcome achievement for faculty, staff, and students, or other outcomes that may be prioritized.

    Communicates and corresponds with university partners and vendors related to proposals, program administration, budgets, payments, logistical and program support. Ensures that the vendor and university program coordination is in compliance with university policies/procedures, risk management, emergency, and code of conduct protocols regarding each program.

    Collaborates with IEE colleagues regarding facilities reservations, catering, logistics, tabling for events and activities and represents department as a liaison with the campus and the community to provide program-related outreach. Participates in the planning, production and distribution of print material, web copy, and online content related to programs and applications.

    Maintains accurate tracking of all custom programs, agreements, and required follow-up with departments, students, and vendors; builds and manages all custom program applications in CRM platform. Staff may be assigned to different program portfolios as determined by workloads and strategic planning. Other duties as assigned.

    Essential Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus four years of related experience. Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program and/or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program and/or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in the research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems, address them proactively, and develop appropriate recommendations leading to solutions. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form and use consultative and facilitation skills to gain consensus. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others.

    A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field. Project management experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the CSUF infrastructure, policies, procedures, and systems. Experience living, studying and/or working abroad. Familiarity with international political, social and cultural issues as they pertain to educational exchange.

    License/Certifications

    A valid California driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
