Introduction About the Position:This position is responsible to ensure successful project management for all Facilities Management projects. Oversees and manages facilities renovation and repair projects throughout the city and is responsible for the formal coordination, implementation, execution, reporting and completion of Facilities Management related projects. Administers, coordinates, and maintains multiple service, commodity, and performance contracts for a variety of City departments and/or divisions.
Anticipated starting salary may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this positio n is $ 83,969.60 annually.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required.
- Four years of project management and/or service contract management experience in the area of facilities construction and renovation is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
Essential Functions - Oversees and manages maintenance contracts and construction projects, as needed.
- Creates scopes of work for Energy Savings contracts, Architectural and Engineering services contracts and other facilities improvement contracts.
- Creates and evaluates Requests for Proposals and Invitations for Bids.
- Conducts pre-bid, pre-construction, and other meetings throughout the contract process.
- Meets with city staff to determine project intent and scope of work; establishes project design requirements.
- Enforces contract specifications to ensure successful outcomes of the contracts.
- Works with Purchasing department on a continual basis from initiation of contracts through the purchasing phase and through the completion of the contract.

- Will perform tasks and assignments both in the field and in the office.
- Inspect construction sites to evaluate work as it progresses. Lift and transport materials including concrete and asphalt specimens, barricades, maps, blueprints, and bid packages weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Lift and carry ladders. Climb ladders to access roof and other elevated areas, bend and stretch in order to access various areas of city buildings and sites.
- At critical junctures, works outside the boundaries of normally scheduled work hours/days of the week to ensure proper management of ongoing projects.
- Muscular exertion and lifting.
- Exposure to dust, grease, noise, cramped areas, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors.
- Operate standard office equipment including a computer, commercial plotter, telephone, copy and fax machines require continuous and repetitive arm, hand, and eye movement.
- Travel to and from meetings and various job locations throughout the city.
