Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus six years of directly related Utility electrical experience, including two years as a journeyman electrician.
Licenses or Certifications: - Licensed for the operation of commercial vehicles in the state of Texas within 120 days of employment.

The Distribution Electrician Crew Leader ( DECL ) position leads personnel performing overhead and underground distribution construction, maintenance, and restoration activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Distribution Electrician, leading multiple distribution projects, and safely providing crew oversight during normal day and restoration periods. The ideal candidate will have experience working with or within Work Management systems, Asset Management programs, while providing project completion timeliness. The candidate will be able to utilize analytical data, demonstrate technical expertise, and communicate project scope to Supervision.

Work Schedule: - This position is categorized as Essential Personnel with the City of Austin. Essential staff are required to work during emergencies or bad weather if they are scheduled to work and, in some cases, when they are not scheduled. Essential employees ensure the continuance of key operations for the City of Austin.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.Participates in short and long range planning activities for Customer Account Management, Customer Care Services and Customer Energy Solutions; serves as an advisor in support of division initiatives. Develops, maintains, and monitors departmental budget; creates, compiles, and completes all budget documents for executive presentation. Manages purchasing procurement process; monitors contract services to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Assists in the formulation of departmental polices and operating procedures. Evaluates program effectiveness and efficiency to meet departmental business goals. Recommends solutions to critical business issues and presents alternatives. Prepares and presents reports, oversees the design of visual presentation materials, including charts and graphs to accompany reports. Coordinates all human resource activities for department to include employment and employee relations. Coordinates cross-functional projects and personnel to assess departmental requirements. Acts as the department liaison in the operations of divisions and other City departments.

- Responsible for leading utility crews and training other Utility Electricians (minimum of 3 employees, including the crew leader).
