    The Position

    Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker 2 located in Las Vegas, NV. The Intensive In-Home Clinical Team Program provides intensive home and community based clinical services to youth birth through age 18 with complex behavioral health needs and their families.

    Program is designed to support youth returning to their homes following out of home treatment and for youth that are at risk for out of home treatment placements that might be avoided with frequent, in home and community treatment services. In-home teams begin engagement with youth and families prior to discharging from an out of home placement to support the creation and implementation of a plan for services post discharge, strengthen transition to home and community and assist youth and family in building a solid foundation. Services are provided in home, in the community, in schools and in other settings as needed. Teams provide individual and family therapy; psychosocial rehabilitative services and care coordination. The Clinical Social Worker II serves as the clinical lead for the team; completes comprehensive assessments; SED and SMI determinations; provides individual and family therapy; level of care assessments; contributes to the development and implementation of safety and soothing plans; member of and clinical lead for the child and family team; provides input into treatment plan, psychosocial needs, goals and objectives; provides recommendations for changes in services; crisis assessment and stabilization interventions during the course of treatment.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Special Notes Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series. Special Requirements Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
