    Pay Range: $78,326 - $101,824 annual compensation

    A Community Center Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department. We are seeking a detail oriented professional for our next facility, Diamond Hill Community Center. Are you looking for an opportunity where you can have an impact on your community?

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Public Health, Public Administration, Recreation, Sports Management, Business Administration or a related field.
    • Four (4) years of responsible community center service or recreational programming experience
    • One (1) year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications or have the ability to obtain within first six (6) months of employment.
    • Membership and active participation in the National Recreation and Park Association and Texas Recreation and Park Society (or related state association).
    • Experience working with Active Net or similar recreation software.
    • Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP).

    The Community Center Coordinator job responsibilities include:
    • Develops, implements, and manages a variety of year-round, high quality programs and activities to meet the identified needs and achieve department goals within available resources. Analyzes data to determine the success of the programs, and makes recommendations to their district superintendent regarding the implementation of new programs.
    • Hire, train and supervise staff, which includes facilitating resources, prioritizing and assigning work.
    • Explains and enforces the general policies of the department; advises the public on the availability and types of services, area conditions, and locations/costs/dates.
    • Registers patrons for department activities and explains schedules to participants.
    • Updates and services department online registration systems.
    • Coordinate and schedule the organization and operational activities of the community center and related recreational, educational, and cultural programs.
    • Participate in the planning and implementation of summer day camp programming from inception, development, facilitation, and participant satisfaction.
    • Identify opportunities for improving methods and procedures and identifies resource needs.
    • Monitor and evaluate the quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness of assigned city service programs, service delivery methods and procedures.
    • Provide excellent customer service and respond to and resolve customer issues and needs.
    • Oversee the maintenance of the community center and facility grounds and monitor equipment for cleanliness and proper function.
    • Participate in the development and administration of assigned community center budget.
    • Complete various administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, deposits, monthly reports, purchase orders request, among others.
    • Develop marketing materials to promote community center program and activities, including management of social media pages; creates and updates media and website content as needed; responds to calls, emails, and media requests.
    • Develop relationships with local community, businesses, school districts, civic associations, media, etc. in order to encourage participation in community activities.

    Physical Demand

    Medium work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.

    Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

    The Health Center Plan – Offers employees and their family’s

    primary health care services that are 100% completely free and unlimited. Employees can visit any one of the three City of Fort Worth Employee Health Centers and receive guaranteed same or next day appointments for sick visits. Also, services are available at any one of the five satellite locations that serves employees across the city.

    The Consumer Choice Plan – Is offered to employees at no cost or low monthly premiums to cover eligible dependents and provides the financial benefits of a Health Savings Account (HSA).

    • Preventative services are covered at 100% on both plans.
    • Prescription Drug coverage including mail order pharmacy are also included.

    Vacation

    Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually
    6 months), employees may take time off for rest, relaxation, vacation, illness, religious observances, and personal business.

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
