    Job Summary:

    Responsible for managing all operations and personnel associated with the Visitors Center including gift store. Maintains a well-informed, working knowledge of the attractions and services available in the area to visitors; acts as a liaison between these entities and the visitor while maintaining a personal commitment to excellence, professionalism and creativity.

    The salary range for this position is $31.44 - $42.45 per hour with a hiring range of $31.44 - $36.95, depending on qualifications and experience.

    Essential Functions:
    • Oversees the daily retail operations of the center including but not limited to buying, merchandising, inventory or goods, daily cash reports and reconciliation reports.
    • Supervises the dissemination of information designed to influence the buying decision of potential visitors; ensures that all inquiries from mail, walk-in, and telephone receive prompt and courteous responses.
    • Oversees the recruiting, training, and supervising of all visitor center staff and volunteers; responsible for processing payroll if applicable.
    • Ensures that the Visitor Center is well maintained and stocked with the brochures and other informational materials; gathers event information for the Visitor Center.
    • Develops specialized visitor information and itineraries as needed.
    • Tracks fulfillment of all mail and phone inquiries and produces monthly reports; compiles a monthly report from the daily visitor logs and people counters showing the total number of visitors to the Visitor Center, their state of origin, reason for travel and final destination.
    • Coordinates off-site visitor information booths for special events.
    • Helps with offsite signature events including but not limited to set-up, tear-down, working Visitors Center booth/kiosk, off-site sales etc.
    • Reports all visitor center deposits of cash and credit cards from merchandise sales weekly to the accounting department.
    • Coordinates FAM (familiarization) trips and the annual holiday party for the volunteers.
    • Produces, follows and updates visitor center procedure manual.
    • Researches new companies or activities beneficial to the visitor.
    • Gathers information for the quarterly Calendar of Events; maintains database of regular contributors.
    • Assists in working consumer trade shows for the Visit Loveland division.
    • Delivers public presentations focused on visitor services/attractions when requested.
    • Maintains a cohesive working relationship with all other City personnel and Chamber to ensure a unified and effective promotional effort.

    Other Job Functions:
    • Oversees the recruiting, training, and supervising of all visitor center staff.
    • Responsible for processing timesheets.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Level and Management Expectations:

    Qualifications:

    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree or better in Marketing, Tourism, Communications or related field.

    Experience:
    • 5 years experience in marketing, retail, merchandising, inventory or related field required.
    • 2 years su pervisory experience, including hiring and managing personnel required.
    • 1 year cash handling/deposit experience required.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products required.
    • Experience working with volunteers preferred.
    • An equivalent combination of education and or experience may substitute for education requirements on a year for year basis.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Demonstrated knowledge of retail operations.
    • Ability to use suggestive sales techniques and market city attractions to visitors.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with a varied audience.
    • Skilled in training of staff, influencing and managing performance of staff and volunteers.
    • Skilled in managing inventory effectively.
    • Ability to perform basic accounting/cash handling functions.
    • Knowledge of office productivity software.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other department and division personnel.
    • Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
    • Frequent minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.
    • Frequent exposure to routine office noise and equipment.
    • Occasional exposure to hazards typically found in general office environments where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.
