  • Job Description

    The City of Weatherford’s Development and Neighborhood Services Department is looking to hire a Development Clerk. Responsible for secretarial and administrative support for the department including but not limited to extensive knowledge of multi-jurisdictional, departmental and state law regulations; ensuring that legal notices, posted notices, and publications are published/issued in a timely manner as required by applicable regulations; ensuring complete and accurate processing of building permit applications, contractor registrations, and code enforcement complaints; providing correspondence, research, reports; answering telephone to provide information or direct individuals to the appropriate jurisdiction, department, and/or source; maintaining files and records; and scheduling Inspection staff as directed by immediate supervisor.     Roles & Responsibilities Include:
    • Prepares and ensures all correspondence, minutes, agendas, packets legal notices, posted notices, and publications are on-time, proofed, and accurate.
    • Answers telephone and receives general public; provides Information or directs caller and walk-in traffic to appropriate City, County, or State department or source of assistance.
    • Issues building permits and manages case files building plans, and coordinates contractor registration.
    • Collects fees and balances cash drawer daily.
    • Manages contractor payments and inspections requests for services.
    • Maintains and compiles Planning, Health, Building Inspections and Code Enforcement database records and reports.
    • Prepares and mails letters, reports, orders, and forms.
    • Researches and collects property ownership/occupancy information.
    • Researches and collects information as directed by the Director and prepares correspondence, memorandums, agendas, and reports for the Director.


    Qualifications

    • One year of secretarial or customer service experience with a company or agency. • Computer literate, training certificates, post high school education and bilingual skills a plus. • Must have valid Texas Driver's License and driving record must meet or surpass guidelines as set forth by the City of Weatherford.

    What we offer to our Employees:
