Job Summary Under general direction, the incumbent of this position will provide research, project management and strategic program support for the Future of Work initiative. Provides project support for the Staff Learning and Development Program as well as other related projects. Assists with staff training events and division communications as needed. The incumbent provides strategic program support involving presentation of management positions related to the Future of Work initiative and will have normal access to confidential information which contributes significantly to the development of the management positions regarding the Future of Work. This role grants the incumbent access to management's strategies on collective bargaining negotiations at CSU Long Beach.
Key Responsibilities - Program research, project management support and tracking for Future of Work initiatives - Provides strategic program support and project management for the Future of Work committees, initiatives, and projects. This includes maintaining the Future of Work project tracking system. Acts as a liaison to the campus community regarding Future of Work transitions and efforts on campus.
- Staff learning, development, and recognition support - Coordinate available campus training opportunities across divisions for inclusion in the Staff Learning and Development Center offerings calendar. Ensures that all training resources have up to date and accurate information.
- Process improvement and special projects - Support, coordinate, and implement staff strategic initiatives; works across divisions. Liaison with various university committees and departments as representative of DAF for staff initiatives.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to provide program development, planning, and project management support. Ability to coordinate a wide variety of duties, responsibilities, and projects with often competing deadlines with ability to take effective action under pressure. Ability to accurately maintain and report progress on multiple projects and tasks and adjust to short and often changing deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work with various and diverse constituencies to identify issues and build consensus to recognize common goals and develop procedures and processes.
Demonstrated ability to utilize effective decision making, judgment, discretion, and confidentiality. Strong and proactive problem solving, analytical, and organization skills. Ability to prepare formal/informal presentations: workshops and papers both graphically and in narrative format. Sensitive to values of cultural and ethnic diversity and working in a diverse campus community Ability to effectively interact, work, and develop meaningful relationships with people of various cultural backgrounds.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Education and Experience • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and three years related experience in implementation of HR Strategic initiatives required.
• Experience in telecommuting and hoteling and for a large organization preferred.
• Project coordination experience preferred
• Learning and development experience preferred.
• University and union experience preferred.
Physical Summary - Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,687 - $11,223 per month.
Benefits Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Time Base 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
