The City Clerk's Office provides oversight for several citywide functions such as elections, boards and commissions, council meeting agendas, and records management with a focus on innovation. Our office is in the heart of Old Town in city hall and works with residents and city staff across all departments. This position will annually receive 12 paid holidays, 96 hours of medical leave, 3 weeks of vacation, and health and dental benefits start immediately. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience- A High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required.
- Four years in an administrative support position to include customer service / public contact experience.
- Preferred: some college coursework.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required for some positions depending on department/section assignment.
Essential Functions Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
City Clerk Assignment:- Works with staff in the planning and conducting of municipal elections.
- Provides assistance to candidates with election forms; works with citizens on voter information and administrative preparation for the primary and general elections.
- Prepares or coordinates the transcription of meeting minutes and agendas for board, commission, or committee meetings and Trails sub-Committee meetings.
- Schedules and coordinates Board and/or Commission meetings or hearings.
- Performs complex accounting or finance work including being responsible directly or indirectly for large sums of money, either through justifying payments or invoices or through collection of fees.
