OVERVIEWPOSITION INFORMATION Provides a high level of customer service in various activities related to the Treasurer's Office operations. Provides specialized and technical financial, accounting, or fiscal support activities involving the receiving, processing, and approving of a variety of documents, deposits, payments, or collections. Receipts property taxes and issues refunds. Responds to questions and inquiries regarding the special area of assignment. Must have the ability to understand, interpret and apply guidelines to widely varied situations, including applicable sections of the RCW and WAC regulations for Treasurer's functions.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - High school diploma or GED and
- Four years of fiscal experience including one year of cashiering or banking.
- Relevant work experience demonstrating required knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for educational requirements. Work experience is essential and cannot be replaced by additional education.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, OR QUALIFICATIONS: - Previous fiscal experience in county government.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships as required by work assignments.
- Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematics.
- Knowledge of County, State, and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to the program.
- Skill in providing program advice and education to the public.
- Skill in prioritizing workload and adapting to changes in workload demand.
- Knowledge of investigative research methods.
- Knowledge of principles and methods associated with public information dissemination.
- Skill in gathering, manipulating and using data utilizing a computer and other tools.

- The duties in this position are performed in an office setting utilizing standard office equipment.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE OF DUTIESIn this role, you will have opportunity to:
- Perform various cashiering duties, including but not limited to; Receive and post tax payments in person, electronically, and through the mail. Receive requests and make change for other departments.
- Calculate personal or real property taxes due; verify accuracy of others' calculations; process changes or corrections. Provide specialized and/or technical information that requires moderate interpretation of established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Review and coordinate various financial reports, forms, and documents such as deposits, tax documents/information, Forest Fire Protection (FFP) report and wire to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and audit and approve documents prepared or entered by others. Maintain and destroy records following established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Perform financial/numeric work, requiring the application of accepted bookkeeping or basic accounting methods and applications. Balance receipts, prepare deposits, and create ad hoc bank transactions daily in Workday. Receive deposits from and approve ad hoc bank transactions for other departments and districts. Prepare deposit log for Armored Car Service. Prepare import files for tax payments to upload to the tax roll and bank. Issue refunds, cancel returned payments, submits FFP refund applications to the DNR annually.
- Compose, draft, edit, and proofread emails and letters. Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner and provide a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers. Research questions and issues and provides response and recommendations.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed. Create and maintain procedures to align with any process improvement or law changes.

Vacation Leave New employees are credited with 48 hours of annual leave upon hire and will be begin accruing at the rate of 8 hours per month starting on their 7th month of employment. Upon completion of 3 years: 15 days per year (10.00 hours per month)
