    Minimum Qualifications
    Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
    • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Aviation Management, Airway Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, plus four (4) years of experience in a medium or large airline or airport operations environment.
    • Experience may be substituted for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.


    Licenses or Certifications:

    Class C Texas Driver License.

    OVERVIEW OF THIS POSITION
    Provide management and oversight of all shared airport resources including: airline gates, passenger loading bridges, ticket counters, baggage claim carousels, baggage make-up carousels, and aircraft hardstand parking areas for all passenger, cargo, and charter aircraft operations at AUS .
    Serve as a system administrator for the Resource Management System ( RMS ) and Airport Operational Database ( AODB ) which includes live and seasonal schedule environments.
    Routinely monitor live RMS and AODB systems for errors that could affect the accuracy of airline billing.
    Develop and maintain advance preliminary gated flight schedules and resource allocations for air carriers by applying developed airport business rules.
    Be a subject matter expert and liaison regarding the scheduling of shared facilities within the airport and coordinate with local airline and ground handler representatives to maximize the functional capacity of limited airport resources.
    Assist in training and system familiarization of the AODB and RMS front-line users.
    Participate in technical, construction, operational reviews, safety risk assessments, and project meetings while providing direct communication to various airport stakeholders regarding shared facilities, preferential gate usage, and future facility allocation and utilization.
    Collaborate with manager in producing top-quality research findings, statistical reports, dashboards, special event analysis, and internal communications for the airport Executive Team and other airport stakeholders to bring awareness around airport key performance indicators. Propose data-driven recommendations for optimizing resource utilization or improving scheduling processes.

    ASSESSMENT
    A skills assessment will be required for this position.

    Driving Requirement:
    This position requires a Class C Texas Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation ( DRE ) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months.

    DRIVER’S LICENSE
    This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA .

    Successful candidate must be in possession of a Texas driver’s license as authorized by the Texas Transportation Code. A driving record verification will be conducted. Applicants for positions for which City driving is an essential function must meet the standards of the program: age 18 or older, current applicable driver’s license, proof of insurability and no more than six (6) points assessed on Driver Record Evaluation ( DRE ) based on Department of Public Safety’s ( DPS ) Driver Record Report.

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
    Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

    Provides management and oversight of all airport resources including airline gates; ticket counters; baggage claims devices; baggage make-up carousels; passenger loading bridges; and aircraft hardstand parking areas for all passenger service, cargo service, and charter aircraft operations at ABIA . Represents the Chief Operations Officer as a subject matter expert in airport terminal facility layout and aircraft parking to facilitate proposed capital development and construction plans. Mitigates any project or operational impacts as a result of stakeholder actions. Stakeholders include contractors/consultants, airline operators, properties, ground handling operators, TSA , and POS Security. Ensures uninterrupted airline flight operations as they pertain to gate scheduling and management. Coordinates and approves all tenant and stakeholder modification requests to parking layouts and assignments for aircraft and ground service equipment. Approves ground service equipment and vehicle parking on the ramp. Creates and modifies existing airport infrastructure and physical layout including gates, ramps, and aircraft parking stands to accommodate new airlines and operations. Develops operational methods to maximize current resource utilization and layouts based on existing and proposed operational conditions. Defines and develops existing Resource Management System ( RMS ) and Airport Operational Database ( AODB ) systems to provide capacity for future airport data demands and positions the airport to better leverage new technology in the future. Serves as the Database Administrator, Super User, and Subject Matter Expert for the AODB and RMS , which includes Live and Seasonal schedule environments. Provides oversight to the operation of the Flight Information Management System ( FIMS ). Develops statistical reports based on information housed within the AODB . Requires a strong familiarization with SQL reporting or INFORM business intelligence tools and all data streams. Develops, writes, and publishes operating manuals, technical reports, training materials, and operational support documents for internal applications and/or dissemination to other organizations; maintains tools and database related to Resource Management.

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, RMS , and AODB .
    • Knowledge of basic IT concepts such as: function of networks, servers, and workstations.
    • Knowledge of databases and relational database concepts such as table structure and table relationships and client workstation folder structure.
    • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and ordinances related to emergency response.
    • Knowledge and understanding of airport operations.
    • Skill in oral and written communication.

    • Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
    • Skill in using computers and related software applications.
    • Skill in planning and organizing.
