    Position: Business Process Analyst II - Programmer
    Department: City of Fort Worth Police Department, Technology Services Section
    Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm This is a full-time, in-office role (occasional evenings/weekends required)

    About the Role:

    We are seeking a skilled Business Process Analyst II - Programmer to join the Technology Services team within the Fort Worth Police Department. You’ll work with both in-house and third-party applications, leveraging .NET Framework, .NET Core, JavaScript, and more to create solutions that enhance public safety and operational efficiency. In this role, you’ll turn business needs into technical solutions, automate processes, and integrate systems to support police operations.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related IT-focused field.
    • At least 2 years of experience in computer programming.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check (CJIS clearance).


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in web application development with VB.Net, C#, and JavaScript.
    • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
    • Familiarity with modern web frameworks, especially Vue.js and .NET.
    • Experience with systems integration and interface development (APIs, Power Automate).
    • Background in law enforcement, public safety, or regulated sectors is a plus.


    The Business Process Analyst II Job Responsibilities:
    • Deliver high-quality customer service to internal customers in the Police Department.
    • Support and maintain third-party applications used across the department.
    • Develop application interfaces and custom add-ons to enhance functionality for various units within the department.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with applications and interfaces.
    • Document processes for in-house tools and applications.
    • Manage multiple assignments with flexibility and attention to detail.
    • Evaluate software solutions, including assessing third-party products.

    Physical Demand:

    Depending on assignment, positions in the class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

    Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions it this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Working Conditions:

    Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.

    Final candidates selected for hire in the Police Department will be subject to fingerprint/criminal history background check and polygraph examination. Applicants must not have used marijuana during the previous two (2) years, nor illegally used any controlled substances within the last five (5) years.

    Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

    The Health Center Plan – Offers employees and their family’s

Also, services are available at any one of the five satellite locations that serves employees across the city.

    The Consumer Choice Plan – Is offered to employees at no cost or low monthly premiums to cover eligible dependents and provides the financial benefits of a Health Savings Account (HSA).

    • Preventative services are covered at 100% on both plans.
    • Prescription Drug coverage including mail order pharmacy are also included.

    Vacation

    Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually
    6 months), employees may take time off for rest, relaxation, vacation, illness, religious observances, and personal business.

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
