Introduction This Human Services Representative I at Vista del Camino Social Services assignment is specific to front desk administrative duties. This part-time position is Monday-Friday during the operational hours of 8:00am-5:00pm. This position provides services to the public both in person and over the phone, by responding to a wide variety of complex human services needs and customer service issues, including coordination of programs, difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries, requests for services and complaints. This position requires the candidate to be bilingual in English and Spanish and the ability to fluently speak and write it. Two years of customer experience in a social service setting is highly preferred. Multitasking and organizational skills are imperative in this fast-paced environment.
Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $22.48/hour. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience- No education or experience required for this position.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Essential Functions Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
- Communicates effectively in person and on the telephone with patrons and/or program participants.
- Performs on-site participant registration for leisure education classes.
- Observes patrons and program participants in order to maintain discipline, order, and crowd control at activity site.
- Prepares and distributes flyers, posters, and other advertisements for area programs.
- Sets up, tears down, and cleans up for special events, projects, and programs.
- Maintains responsibility for equipment at facility and ensures proper storage and inventory are completed daily.
- Uses personal computer to prepare quality written documents including accident and incident reports, event flyers, emails, and electronic timesheet.
Work Environment/Physical Demands - Move objects up to 50 pounds a long distance (greater than 20 ft.) with assistance, such as setting up tables, sound and lighting equipment, booth frames, and lifting trash bags.
- Visual and muscular dexterity to enter data or information into a terminal, personal computer, or other keyboard device.
- Operate a motorized vehicle.
- Work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
