    The Position

    Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

    The Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Bureau of Child, Family, and Community Wellness (BCFCW), within the Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion (CDPHP) Section, is actively seeking candidates for the role of Grants & Projects Analyst 2 based in Carson City, NV. This position offers training opportunities for developing skills in the financial management of multiple federally funded Chronic Disease Programs. Candidates should possess a foundational fiscal background and an understanding of accounts receivable and payable, along with the ability to work effectively under guidance. As part of their professional development, successful candidates will receive mentorship and collaboration opportunities with team members and stakeholders across various departments. This includes working closely with program managers, financial analysts, and project coordinators to learn how to integrate financial operations seamlessly with program goals.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and two years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the areas as described above; OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.     The presence of Nevada's earliest inhabitants, beginning about 12,400 years ago, is marked by many petroglyphs and archaeological sites. Baskets, decoys, and ingenious traps are evidence of the resourcefulness of these early people in a harsh and arid environment.

    Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
