    Description

    This responsible position performs a variety of specialized clerical and record keeping functions, provides select services to the public, and provides requested information to the public and Sheriff’s Office personnel.

    This position is at the County of Charleston Judicial Center, 100 Broad St., Charleston, SC. Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5;00 pm.

    HOURLY RANGE: $20.59-$24.40

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties include, but are not limited to: maintaining and updating files accurately, both digitally and in written form, entering and retrieving data from RMS and NCIC systems, assisting and disseminating accurate data to requesting individuals or agencies, fingerprinting and photographing employees and the public, scheduling and monitoring video visitations, processing bonds, accepting payment of fines, reconciling cash, auditing records, retrieving and processing warrants, and assisting and disseminating accurate data to requesting individuals or agencies. This position involves a tremendous amount of telephone and in person contact with the public and other governmental agencies. Interested candidates must be able to deal with all individuals in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Other duties include typing, data entry, and filing. Depending on work assignment, duties will be performed on an 8-hour day or 12.25-hour rotating shift schedule.

    Minimum Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS: A qualified applicant must (1) be a U.S. citizen, (2) possess a high school diploma (from an accredited school) or GED (3) must have a valid SC driver’s license or the ability to obtain a South Carolina one upon acceptance of the position (4) be able to accurately perform clerical tasks of a repetitive nature (5) be able to operate a personal computer using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), the internet, JMS, RMS, and NCIC (6) be able to interact with all individuals in a professional and courteous manner at all times and (7) be able to obtain NCIC certification within six months of selection.
