Position DutiesSalary Range for Senior Warehouse Worker is: $67,594.80 - $82,118.40
The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. These salary ranges include an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.
San José Mineta International Airport is currently recruiting for a full-time Senior Warehouse Worker. Senior Warehouse Worker duties include operating an airport assigned vehicle, completing a daily predetermined scheduled pickup/delivery route that includes transport and retrieval, physically loading and unloading assigned delivery vehicle of various material. Delivery route includes stops at offsite locations and should be completed within an established time frame. Senior Warehouse Worker will also maintain transportation logs and perform vehicle inspection daily. Duties include receiving of various materials, distribution of mail (on/offsite), interdepartmental deliveries, unpacking and sorting items, leading periodic stock audit and reconciling discrepancies, lifting and carrying moderately heavy or bulky items, maintaining records and preparing reports, operating and maintaining trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks including electric pallet jacks, carts, hand trucks, and specialized materials handling equipment, reporting any malfunctions with the vehicle and any service issues as required to the supervisor.
Senior Warehouse Workers must be able to follow directions to make planned deliveries on time, have knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance requirements and know when to report any vehicle issues, and must be able to perform duties unsupervised while on the route and be able to make decisions regarding traffic situations, emergencies on the road, and possibly, alternate routes as needed. Occasional assignments include transporting, assembling, maintaining, and making minor repairs to furniture or similar type of items.
The position is assigned to the Airport Facilities and Engineering Division. The Airport Warehouse provides service to all San José Airport staff, and the position requires driving an assigned vehicle. The San José Airport Warehouse hours of operation are between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

- Supervises and participates in the operations of a warehouse, including the receipt, storage, and issuance of supplies, materials, parts, and equipment.
- Supervises and participates in the maintenance of inventory records.

- Maintains stock levels; orders through store requisitions, purchase requisitions, and open purchase orders; special orders emergency maintenance items.
- Coordinates with buyers on the purchase of special supplies and parts that are specific to the department.
- Supervises and participates in the pick-up and delivery of stock items from City warehouses; may pick up emergency items from vendors.
- Supervises and participates in the taking of periodic physical inventories.
- Checks and reconciles physical inventory with computer or physical records.
- Maintains records and prepares reports.
- Schedules, assigns, supervises, instructs, and evaluates subordinates.
- Evaluates condition of some materials and equipment, recommending salvageable items.
- Supervises an intra-departmental messenger and mail service.
Minimum QualificationsEducation
Completion of high school, or General Educational Development (GED) Certificate, or California Proficiency Certificate.
Experience
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible warehouse experience, one (1) year of which should be at a large warehouse facility or leading others in the receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory of a wide variety of stock items or other specialized parts and equipment.

As a condition of employment in some designated positions, possession of a valid State of California Class A or B driver's license with applicable endorsements may be required in the performance of job duties.
