    ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY - LITIGATION DIVISION

    CITY OF ATLANTA LAW DEPARTMENT

    General Description

    Applicants should be capable of handling all stages of litigation including discovery, depositions, and alternative dispute resolution. The ideal candidate should have at least three (3) years of litigation experience in general civil litigation in state and federal courts. The ideal candidate should have trial experience and experience working with senior attorneys and administrative staff. Prior experience representing a municipal or other local government is not required. The position will require extensive contact with various City Departments and Atlanta City Council.

    Applicants must possess strong written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and the interpersonal skills necessary to contribute to a litigation team handling complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education and Experience: Juris Doctorate degree required. Must be a member of good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or the ability to obtain membership within one (1) year of employment. Must have at least at least three (3) years of post-graduate experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience in municipal, county, and/or constitutional law.

    Demonstrated experience with aviation law is a plus.
