    The Position

    Facility Supervisors/Managers plan, organize and direct buildings and grounds maintenance, repair, custodial work, security functions, and fleet maintenance and supervise skilled and semi-skilled staff.

    This position is located in Las Vegas, NV. Incumbents function as first line supervisors who repair, inspect, and maintain an assigned facility. Incumbents will function as the liaison between the Facility Manager and sub-contractors working in the building as directed. Incumbents will evaluate the performance of contractors and review completed work. Incumbents may coordinate and monitor services performed by multiple vendors as directed by the Facility Manager. Incumbents identify current and future maintenance and construction needs, research cost data and prepare project budgets; walk or communicate with regulatory agencies regarding compliance with building codes and safety, health and environmental regulations; conduct safety inspections and develop and implement procedures for asset preservation as directed.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of building and facilities maintenance or construction experience which must have included project planning, preparation of cost estimates and budgets, scheduling and project management. Two years of the experience must have included supervision of skilled trades workers and semi-skilled workers; OR one year of experience as a Facility Supervisor II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Additional Position Criteria Incumbent is required to furnish their own tools. CJIS background investigation is required The Examination If there are five or fewer qualified applicants, the exam will consist of an application evaluation.     1) Describe your experience in the operation and maintenance of central plant equipment (i.e., chillers, boilers, cooling towers, hot and cold water closed loop systems, building automation systems).

    2) Describe your working knowledge of commercial building fire alarm, fire sprinkler and other life safety systems.

    3) CJIS background investigation is required, can you meet this requirement?

In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level.
