General Description and Classification Standards The Vehicle for Hire ATL Enforcement Officer is responsible for performing inspections and enforcing the City of Atlanta ordinances designed to ensure Atlanta’s citizens and visitors have access to safe, courteous, and professional vehicle for hire services. Along with the enforcement of all parking statutes and ordinances of the State for which the Police Department is accountable.
This position is mission essential with a shift work schedule to service a 24/7 operation. Enforcement Officers are required to work year-round, including holidays and weekends. These individuals also work during inclement weather and emergencies. Traffic Enforcement Officers are required to always wear provided protective gear.
Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, Enforcement Officers must be able to stand for long periods of time (in two-hour intervals) on concrete in a traffic crosswalk. Enforcement Officers are regularly required to walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach and motion with hands and arms; step up and down curbs; blow a whistle; and talk or hear and visually observe vehicle and pedestrian traffic activity.
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical.Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience - High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
- 1 year experience in dealing with the public or performing inspections and/or related duties is required.
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License, or valid Driver’s License from another state, with ability to obtain Georgia Driver’s License within 30 days.
