The Position
Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.
Health Program Manager 2's supervise both supervisory and professional staff engaged in provision of health-related services and are responsible for long range, broad-based planning and policy development for a statewide program. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Health Program Manager 2 in Reno/Sparks, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Sierra Regional Center (SRC).
Incumbents provide oversight and technical assistance to staff to ensure compliance with policy and regulations. Apply all state and federal plans of corrections related to the Home and Community Based Waiver is implemented promptly to not impact funding to include monitoring and evaluating compliance of support plans and appropriateness of services. Assists Agency Manager in coordinating efforts with various community service providers, governmental officials, professionals, and customers to resolve issues of mutual concern. Assists Agency Manager to develop program goals, objectives and service delivery procedures for the population served. Directly supervise Developmental Specialist IVs program staff, and support staff. Responsible for hiring all DS IV program staff. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science or related field and four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a health-related field, two years of which included providing or coordinating the delivery of health care services, budget preparation and control, and the interpretation and implementation of complex regulations. Of the two years of experience, one year must have included supervision of professional staff; OR one year of experience as a Health Program Manager I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Notes As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks. Pursuant to NRS 632, a bachelor's degree from a school of professional nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing is equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Some positions in this series require professional licensure as a Registered Dietitian, Registered Nurse, or other professional licensure or registration at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. As a condition of employment, pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must first submit to a pre-employment screening test for controlled substances.
