    The Position

    Psychological Developmental Counselors provide services in a clinic or community setting including standardized developmental assessments, individual and group intervention, counseling and service coordination for families with children who have, or may be at risk for, developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

    The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a part time Psychological Developmental Counselor 2 in Las Vegas. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS). Incumbent will perform screening, evaluations, assessments, and reassessments in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C guidelines, state law, and applicable policy and procedures. Training of staff and consultation with other team members regarding assessment results and collects recommendations for the development, facilitation, and maintenance of the Individualized Family Service Plan.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, education, or closely related field and two years of post-master's degree experience in providing standardized testing services, counseling and intervention in a rehabilitative, clinic, institutional or educational setting. One year of the required experience must have included performing developmental standardized testing of pre-school and/or school-age children; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the master's degree level. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
