The person hired for the Health Program Specialist Supervisor will have opportunities to oversee a wide variety of programs including Emergency Preparedness, Oral Health, Tobacco Health, Home Visiting, and help oversee the Community Health Improvement Plan. The HPS Supervisor will help develop and monitor budget expenditures and communicate with our State partners to ensure we are meeting outlined goals and objectives. The HPS supervisor will also be responsible for assisting with Public Health Accreditation and doing extensive work with community partners to improve outcomes in social determinants of health.

Receives general direction from the Director and/or Deputy Director of Health and Human Services, or designee.
Exercises direct supervision over professional and clerical staff.
QualificationsAny combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: Four (4) years’ experience in Public Health or related field. Two (2) years Colusa County experience preferred.
Training: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, health education or a closely related field. Master’s degree in Public Health or a closely related field from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of experience. Previous supervisory experience may substitute for up to two years of required experience, on a year-for-year basis.
License or Certificate: A valid State of California driver's license may be required.
Supplemental InformationThe salary range above consists of 15 steps. Steps 1-6 are annual merit steps with approximately 5% difference between each step, based on successful performance. Steps 7-15 are additional merit steps, requiring 2 years of satisfactory performance at the previous step. Steps 7-14 provide 2.5% increases, while Step 15 offers a 5% increase. The final salary offered will depend on the applicant's experience and qualifications, ranging from steps 1 to 15.
