THE POSITION

Second Line supervisor of quality assurance, transit sales, monitor, ambassador, and/or other transit operations staff. Ensures efficient and effective services of transit operations staff through first line supervisors.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Working Conditions: May work shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Work Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, and four (4) years of fixed route transit operations or related experience, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory role, preferably within the last twenty-four (24) months.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver's license at time of application.
Background Investigation: Employment with the Regional Transportation Commission in this position is contingent upon successful results of a comprehensive education/experience background investigation as well as criminal history, social security trace, personal credit history, and driving history records check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical ability to perform duties in a typical office environment; stamina to stand and walk for extended periods of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds with proper equipment; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Supervises, directs, assists, plans, organizes, assigns and coordinates work of assigned transit operations staff, including sales, quality assurance, and ambassador staff. Assists with the administration of fixed route service provider contracts and monitors service quality to ensure contractor compliance with contract provisions. Monitors the planning of transit monitor trips and that related documentation is completed as required; audits accuracy of information and forwards to appropriate parties. Ensures timely and accurate compilation and reporting of data from lists and logs; reviews data and activity reports; briefs subordinate supervisors on issues, programs and activities. Audits financial reporting received from subordinate supervisors to include: sales revenue, payroll and timekeeping, and inventory and audit of cash revenue. Coordinates and schedules activities to ensure efficient and effective service; reviews and ensures that purchases are made in accordance with applicable laws, codes, policies and procedures. Oversees safety responsibilities for areas assigned and ensures that direct reports are trained on safety procedures, fully compliant with procedures, and held accountable for breaches in safety and security protocol. Administers the planning and oversight of the assessment of liquidated damages; determines assessment to service provider(s); and prepares documentation to assess violations. Coordinates and oversees fixed route special services and events. Composes correspondence to service providers directing corrective action that results in improved service quality that meets performance standards. Ensures efficient, effective and timely service in sales of transit passes to the public. Analyzes, investigates, and responds to issues and concerns; handles more complex and sensitive customer complaints; counsels assigned supervisors on customer service issues and techniques. Manages multiple projects/deliverables with short targeted completion dates. Operates a variety of office equipment, to include computers and associated software. Trains, assigns and evaluates the performance of assigned supervisors; ensures proper and timely in-service training of RTC staff on policies and procedures related to operations. Represents the RTC at meetings and events. Manages special projects as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
GROUP INSURANCE - Health and dental insurance is available at a minimal expense to eligible employees, spouses and dependents. The RTC pays the monthly life insurance premium for eligible employees.
SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY INSURANCE - Eligible employees are covered by a Workman's Compensation Program in accordance with the provisions of the Nevada Industrial Insurance Act (NRS Chapter 616) and the Nevada Occupational Diseases Act (NRS 617).
LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE - The RTC pays a monthly premium toward a long-term disability plan for eligible employees.
VACATION - Vacation leave accrual is based on length of RTC employment. Initial accrual is at the rate of 3.08 vacation hours for each biweekly pay period.
SICK LEAVE - Eligible employees accrue 3.7 hours of sick leave for each biweekly pay period. Employees completing 10 years of service accrue an additional .92 hours of sick leave per biweekly pay period.
MISCELLANEOUS LEAVES - Court leave, military leave, parental leave, leave without pay, blood donor leave, education leave, and RTC promotional/transfer application examination leave are available (upon approval) for eligible permanent employees.
RETIREMENT - Full-time employees become a member of the Nevada State Public Employees Retirement System under an employer paid plan.
LONGEVITY PAY - Effective July 1, 2021, permanent employees who have completed 5 full years of creditable service with the RTC are entitled to a one time longevity payment in addition to their base salary. Longevity is paid annually, in a one time lump sum amount, at the rate of .57 of 1% at 5 years.
CREDIT UNION - RTC employees and their families are eligible to join the Clark County Credit Union.
TUITION REIMBURSEMENT - Eligible employees may be awarded tuition reimbursement upon successful completion of pre-approved, job related courses.
FMLA - Employees who have worked for the RTC for at least one year, and have worked at least 1,250 hours over the preceding 12 months are eligible for the provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act.
