Job DescriptionLocation: Central Office 123 Robert S Kerr Ave OKC, OK
Salary: up to $22.00/hour based on education and experience.
Full Time /Part Time: Part Time
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
Primary Hours: 7:00 am - 6:00 pm (flexible schedule)
Position Description: This position supports the Injury Prevention Service’s surveillance programs by compiling, organizing, and reviewing medical examiner reports, conducting data entry, and assisting epidemiologists and data analysts with data abstraction and other related tasks.
Duties:- Review medical examiner reports according to established protocols to identify and log the types of injuries involved.
- Utilize Adobe Pro to combine, edit, and work with PDF files.
- Perform data entry and maintain records and logs of reports received and distributed to the appropriate project.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate and timely disposition of all records.
Other Duties- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.
Minimum Qualifications:Completion of at least 48 semester hours from an accredited college or university, or a combination of education and experience, substituting six months of work experience in records management, data analysis, abstraction, or other related fields for every 12 hours of college credit.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Microsoft Access, Adobe Pro, data entry, and/or medical record review/coding/abstraction.
Valued Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position include the ability to read difficult subject matter and details involving traumatic injuries and death; to stay organized with outstanding attention to detail; to apply critical thinking skills; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; and to conduct quality assurance and maintain accurate files and records in accordance with detailed protocols and requirements. Knowledge of medical terminology, data security, and confidentiality, as well as proficiency in using computer applications, such as Adobe, Microsoft Access, and the Office 365 environment, is also required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting with exposure to moderate noise level. This position requires long periods of sitting and computer-based work.
Telework: This position is Hybrid and is subject to OSDH policy and supervisor’s discretion.
