  • Job Description

    The Municipal & Community Services Department is looking to hire a Heavy Equipment Operator. If you would like to work on the most recognized team in our community operating our sanitation or brush truck, we would like to hear from you!

    Roles & Responsibilities Include:
    • Operates the sanitation packer truck and specialized equipment for the collection and disposal of refuse.
    • Inspects the refuse packer truck prior to operation including checking oil, tires, antifreeze, hydraulic oil, etc.
    • Ensures Solid Waste Loaders have acquired safety equipment prior to operation.
    • Drives to various locations within our city for collection of refuse and transports to sanitary landfill in a safe and timely manner.
    • May operate specialized equipment or trucks to collect brush and other debris.
    • Leads a small crew of loaders and assists in loading as required.


    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications: • High School diploma or GED equivalent. • Must have a Class B Texas CDL License. • Two years of truck driving experience preferred.

    What we offer to our Employees:

    Vacation – Employees will accrue 4 weeks of paid time off (Two weeks are automatically credited to the employee’s bank after successful completion of their introductory period, usually 6 months).
