    Education and Experience : High School Diploma, GED or higher and three (3) years of customer service experience.

    Licenses and Certificates: Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent issued by another state required at the time of appointment.

    General Purpose

    Under general supervision, develop, promote, organize, and ensure that the TecH2O Water Resources Learning Center offers exceptional guest services and that visitors enjoy a welcoming, safe, and clean environment.

    Typical Duties

    Create an exceptional guest experience for visitors, including El Paso Water employees. Involves: Providing a seamless visitor experience by greeting, assisting, and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all guests through the welcome desk, retail operations, and programming. Provide information, schedule, and regular updates for contract security; and share general information about exhibitions, events, and booking. Provide tours and information for potential facility clients. Keep abreast of changes in procedures, protocols, and services. Includes handling visitor questions and complaints, providing special accommodations for visitors as needed, and maintaining accurate records of visitation, gift shop sales, and conservation giveaways/incentives. Assist in ensuring that the TecH2O Center complies with state and local public health and safety protocols.

    Support and promote events. Involves: Assist in event set-up and dismantling. Greet guests and promote El Paso Water programs and services. Maintain the lobby and ensure it is a welcoming, safe, and clean environment. Keep all necessary brochures stocked; develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and messaging for all front-line staff. Serve as liaison with other departments to ensure information is accurate; alerting security staff of any issues or concerns and keeping security abreast of building schedule.

    Assist in the daily TecH2O Center retail operations. Involves: Provide effective retail sales practices. Opening and closing procedures, accurate money handling, making change, counting the till, assisting in creating and maintaining merchandise displays, stocking shelves, and assisting in loss prevention activities.

    Perform general administrative support. Involves: Process new installation water conservation applications for review, process water permit requests, and customer contacts/cases using the customer service system. Maintain center calendar, inputting/tracking operational costs for the manager, creating and maintaining records, files, and databases. Answer phones and respond to emails. Process facility rentals.

    Coordinate building services for efficient workflow. Involves: Serve as liaison with the building services team by submitting maintenance requests, directing contractors, and updating and coordinating building maintenance schedules. Train new employees on building operations and customer service support. Serve as liaison with contract janitorial staff to ensure all public areas are clean, stocked, and orderly. Unlock facilities for authorized personnel. Open and close buildings and facilities.
