The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the part-time classification of Utility Maintenance Aide - Inventory Control in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of manual labor tasks associated with the routine maintenance and repair of water, sewer, and utility facilities and assists with general warehouse and inventory duties; performs related duties as assigned.
Position Information:- This is a part-time, PERS-eligible, position. The incumbent will work on average 29 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from high school, or the equivalent
- Full-time work experience and certifications required per the assigned area
- Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
- Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483
- May obtain an OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety and Health Training Certificate within thirty (30) days of hire
- May be expected to obtain certification through the City of Henderson in Forklift, CPR, First Aid, Fire Extinguisher, HazMat, Confined Space Entry, and Infectious Disease
- Must possess and maintain all required licenses and certificates, as mandated by state and federal laws and local regulatory agencies, or required herein
When Assigned to Inventory Control- One (1) year of full-time work experience where the primary function was maintaining inventory of supplies, equipment, and/or parts, must include working with computerized records
- Desirable: Experience working with the purchase order receiving and work order modules of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Must obtain and maintain a City Forklift Certification within thirty (30) days of hire as a condition of continued employment

- Three consecutive days of leave, with pay, per occurrence, to attend funeral for immediate family member; increased to one work week when funeral is held 400 statute miles or more from City of Henderson
- 13 paid holidays per year
- Two (2) floating holidays per year
- The ability to bank holidays, up to 228 hours, that fall on an employee’s regularly scheduled day off
- Four-day, 9.5-hour workday, 38-hour work week
- Three-day, 12-hour workday, 38-hour work week for certain positions
- Uniform Allowance - $85.00 per month to employees required to wear a uniform, or $115.00 if required to wear fire retardant clothing
