    The Role:
    The Senior Systems Technician provides technical support and problem-solving for IT systems, helping users with hardware, software, and network issues. This position delivers extraordinary service to end-users while ensuring the safekeeping and use of LVCVA’s Information Technology assets.

    What You’ll Do:

    Keep in mind that this list is not all-inclusive.
    • Provide Extraordinary Technical Support:
      • Provide technical assistance and problem analysis for IT systems and programs. Advise and assist end-users with possible solutions to hardware, software and network issues. Escalate problems to other IT staff or departments if needed. Provide customer follow-up to ensure issue resolution.
      • Install and configure computer hardware, software, updates, mobile and desktop devices, and other technology equipment. Analyze and optimize system performance to meet user needs.
      • Troubleshoot and repair computer equipment. Contact vendors for support and warranty service when repairs are too costly or complex.
      • Process requests for new user access, updates to existing user access, and changes to user information.
      • Offer technical training to staff and create documentation for reference.
      • Provide on-site support and maintenance for technology used in meetings, both internal and public facing.Assist with set-up and technical issues as needed.
    Provide Portable Device/VoIP Support:
    • Support various mobile operating systems, including Windows, iOS, and Android and serves as a specialist in mobile technology. Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve warranty issues, ensuring customer follow-up.
    • Install and troubleshoot desktop VoIP phones equipment. Collaborate with the Telecommunications team for phone equipment, voicemail and messaging integration.
    • Install and maintain company-owned portable devices, including smartphones, tablets and laptops. Assist staff with connecting their devices to LVCVA services and networks.
    Maintain IT Asset Inventory: Maintain assets, such as computers, software, and mobile devices. Assist Finance and Facility Services (warehouse) with asset disposal according to company procedures.

    What We’re Looking For:
    • High school graduate or equivalent required; Associate degree is a plus
    • Demonstrated experience in computer systems support/repair/maintenance
    • Proficiency with maintaining/supporting mobile devices
    • Possess and maintain (where applicable) CompTIA A+ certification, wireless certification, or certification of a comparable or higher level within the same branch of learning at the time of appointment; if not currently certified, must obtain certification within six months of hire date
    • CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), MCP or CWNA certifications preferred
    • Prior job exposure and coursework in the following areas:
      • Data communications
      • Digital communications
      • Operating systems and applications
      • Telecommunications
      • Wireless technologies
